LUCA TIMOTEO JOINS EMSA SOUTH AS DIRECTOR OF GOALKEEPING

We are delighted to share the news of Luca Timoteo's addition to Selects FC and EMSA South for the upcoming outdoor season. Bringing a vast array of experience, Luca comes to our club with a strong background, having worked with the University of Alberta Golden Bears and Vimy Ridge Academy Raiders in the past. He will be dedicated to training goalkeepers of all ages across both our competitive and recreational programs. Stay tuned for further details on goalkeeper training for the 2024 outdoor season. 2010 GIRLS ARE PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONS

ASA PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONS - U15GT2

Back on familiar territory following a commanding regular season where Mike Pettigrew's team clinched their division and secured a spot in the U15 T2 provincials. The girls now had to go head-to-head with top teams in the province to solidify their position as the best in Alberta.

Beginning on Friday, March 15, the girls kicked off their first of three group matches against local rivals, St. Albert Impact. The game served as an excellent display of the girls' defensive ability, culminating in a 3-0 victory with goals scored by Aliyanna Corpuz (2) and Elizabeth Tambaoan (1). Moving into Saturday, March 16, the girls faced two more group stage matches against Medicine Hat RASC and NCFC 10 Atletico from Calgary. Against RASC, they secured a 3-1 victory with goals from Madison Pettigrew, Hailey Picardal-Pham, and Charlie Strate. In their final group match, the girls triumphed in a thrilling 4-2 win, with Emma Barkley (2), Madison Pettigrew, and Charlie Strate all finding the back of the net.

The girls dominated their group and advanced to the semi-finals on Sunday (MAR 17) against the Calgary Blizzard, the top team from another group. Demonstrating their strong defensive skills once again, the girls secured a 3-0 victory with goals from Elizabeth Tambaoan, Hailey Picardal-Pham, and Ava Marie MacDonald. This win ensured their place in the gold medal match against local rivals NSU/Viktoria at the Edmonton Soccer Dome. Taking an early lead, the Selects girls maintained their advantage into halftime, but NSU/Viktoria would equalize with a set-piece goal. In the final minutes of the match, the Selects girls scored the winning goal from a corner kick, clinching the provincial championship. Throughout the tournament, the girls finished their remarkable season with a well-deserved celebration and new silverware.

After a challenging season, Chris Skrenek's team of girls secured a commendable 3rd place finish, earning them a spot at ASA Provincials in Calgary. Congratulations on this achievement, and we extend our best wishes to our 2006 girls for a successful outing at Provincials!

EMSA U10 T2/3 BOARDED CHAMPIONS

Sue Macko's team had an exceptional season, clinching a division championship that will not be forgotten. The 2014 girls showcased their dominance in every game, suffering only one loss in their 12 league matches. Their remarkable 11-0-1 record reflects their unwavering determination. Excelling in both offense and defense, they scored 50 goals and conceded only 14. Congratulations to the U10 girls on a truly outstanding season.

2011 GIRLS CLINCH DIVISION TITLE

EMSA U13 T2/3 BLUE CHAMPIONS

"Offence wins games, defense wins championships."

Following a challenging season, Scott Nemec's team clinched a divisional championship by the narrowest of margins, with one crucial goal setting them apart. The 2011 girls displayed remarkable prowess, going undefeated with 7 wins, 2 draws, and 0 losses, establishing themselves as an indomitable force. Their defense and goaltending were impenetrable, conceding only 4 goals in 9 league matches, a truly remarkable feat.

Having secured the top spot, the 2011 girls have earned a place in the Tier 2 ASA Provincial Competition in Calgary, where they will vie for another championship against formidable T2 teams from across the province. It has undeniably been an outstanding season for our 2011 girls, and we extend our best wishes for their success at Provincials!

EVALUATIONS AND REGISTRATION - 2024 OUTDOOR

Next, lets talk about Selects FC evaluations. If you would like to view the full schedule please click the button above, visit the home page, or look at our social media pages. All evaluations will be held at the South Soccer Centre, we advise all athletes to show up 15 minutes before the session to check in and get ready. No club attire of any kind will be permitted, players will not be allowed to participate if they are not wearing shin guards. We are excited to see everyone at tryouts! SFC ANNOUNCES NEW BADGE

After extensive behind-the-scenes efforts, the club officially announced on February 6, 2024 via video that it would be unveiling a new badge. Unlike a traditional rebrand, the new badge will be implemented in stages, beginning with digital media and gradually extending to physical print, as well as our kits and apparel. The design of the new badge was crafted by Nickolas Anderson, who aimed for a refreshed appearance rather than a complete overhaul. When questioned about the new badge, Nickolas expressed the following," I really think it was important to keep the identity of the club and badge intact. There are so many rebrands now which erase the history, the goal was just to modernize a historic symbol in the community.",

A new website also created by Nickolas has been launched alongside the badge, with a strong emphasis on enhancing functionality and user-friendliness.
